Nutritionist Descriptor

  • Nutritionists use their knowledge and skills to help people to make the best choices for them regarding what and how to eat.
  • Rebecca Healey is a Registered Associate Nutritionist who is registered with the Association for Nutrition (AFN). AFN governs the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN).
  • The UKVRN aims to distinguish those nutrition practitioners who meet rigorously applied training, competence and professional practice criteria.
  • All UKVRN registrants have a minimum of degree-level nutrition science and have committed to adhere to the AFN Standards of Ethics, Conduct and Performance.

The Nutritionist requests that the client notes the following:

  • In providing the services of RJ Health & Wellbeing, the nutrition practitioner is not acting as a physician or psychologist, and the scope of consultation services does not include diagnosis or treatment of specific illness or disorders. If I, the client, suspect I may have an ailment or illness that may require medical attention, then it is my responsibility to consult with my GP.
  • Nutritional advice is not a substitute for professional medical advice and/ or treatment.
  • Any mention of prescription medications during consultation is only for the purpose of providing a complete history of medications that the client is taking and not for Rebecca Healey to judge the appropriateness of the medication. Any change in prescription or dosage is a decision the client makes with his or her doctor.
  • Rather than dealing with treatment of disease, RJ Health & Wellbeing focuses on wellness and prevention of illness, using non-toxic, natural nutritional therapies to achieve optimal health. As a registered associate nutritionist, my practitioner primarily educates and motivates clients to assume more personal responsibility for their health by adopting a healthy attitude, lifestyle, and diet. Dietary supplementation may be advised, where deemed necessary.
  • While people generally experience greater health and wellness as a result of embracing a healthier attitude, lifestyle, and diet, RJ Health & Wellbeing does not promise or guarantee protection from future illness.
  • Nutritional advice will be tailored to support health conditions and/ or health concerns identified and agreed between both parties.
  • Your practitioner may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing as part of your Nutrition programme and may receive a commission on these products or services.
  • The degree of benefit obtainable from nutrition consultation may very between clients with similar health problems and following similar programmes.

The Client understands and agrees to the following:

  • I am responsible for contacting my GP about any health concerns
  • If I am receiving treatment from my GP, or any other medical practitioner, I should tell them about any nutritional strategy provided by my nutrition practitioner.
  • It is important that I tell my nutrition practitioner about any medical diagnosis, herbal medicine, or food supplements I am taking, as this may affect my nutrition programme.
  • If I am unclear about the agreed nutrition programme/ food supplement/ doses/ time period, I should contact my practitioner promptly for clarification.
  • I understand that the advice is personal for me and might not be appropriate for others.
  • I must contact my practitioner should I wish to continue any specified treatments for longer than the original agreed period, to avoid any potential adverse reactions.
  • Recording consultations using any form of electronic media is not allowed without the written permission of both me and my nutrition practitioner.
